Sometimes it will also cause soft-bricks such as bootloop, the phone keeps restarting and won’t pass the Samsung welcome screen, the phone froze and stuck at Samsung and carrier logo and other problems. So that means if you want to stay out of trouble when you want to get the latest firmware version you must fully remove root and unroot your Galaxy S6 first. To unroot the Galaxy S6 is easy on some part but keep in mind that there are some safety procedures that you may need to consider before you unroot the Galaxy S6 so it won’t end up into undesirable outcomes. This Galaxy S6 how to unroot guide covers on the following variants; such as the international Galaxy S6 SM-G920F, T-Mobile Galaxy S6 SM-G920T, Sprint Galaxy S6 SM-G920V, Canadian Galaxy S6 SM-G920W8 from Bell, Rogers, Telus and other carriers, Galaxy S6 SM-G920I version from Australia, Singapore, India & Latin America.
I only covered the mentioned Samsung Galaxy S6 variants since these devices can be easily rooted. This does not include and cannot be applied on Verizon Galaxy S6 SM-G920V and AT&T Galaxy S6 SM-G920A since these variants are mostly has a locked bootloader. So I set aside and separate the unroot guides for the two. If your Samsung Galaxy S6 is rooted with “CF-Auto Root” and have had a SuperSU installed. Right after CF-Auto Root installation it is actually already have the ‘SuperSU’ app installed in the device.
The good thing is; CF-Auto Root also built with an option to permanently remove root in the app itself. So if you just simply want to remove root then follow these steps. To activate the “SuperSU” unroot option just follow these steps:. From Home screen, tap Apps then find the SuperSu app. Once in SuperSU screen, tap the Settings tab.
Scroll down and locate option labeled Full unroot. A warning message will then pop-up, just tap on the Continue button. Wait until it says uninstalling root and then the phone automatically reboots. You can also manually restart the phone by pressing the Power button for about 10 seconds. However, the process above does technically removed the root or the superuser access to the device but it doesn’t mean that it is safe now to run and perform the “OTA Software Update” again.
Yes, the Galaxy S6 is unrooted at this stage but the device status still set into custom. This means the device still in modified status and the software update cannot get through when and if we tried to perform Software update it will still says “The operating system on your device has been modified in an unauthorized way.
Try downloading software updates using Smart Switch on your computer or visit a customer service center.” So the best way to unroot your Galaxy S6 is by restoring back its custom status to official. Doing so you will get the latest Software update again without any difficulties. This method will wipe out any modification you have made in your Galaxy S6, even you do have custom recovery and modified kernels installed.
Here’s what it looks like on a modified Galaxy S6 status of which can be viewed in the device “Download mode” screen. Product name: SM-G920F Current BINARY: Custom System Status: Custom Reactivation LOCK: OFF CROM SERVICE: Unlock Secure Download: Disabled KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 1 (0x5000) RP SWREV: 1 Kernel RP SWREV: 1 Anyway, to access the Galaxy S6 in download mode, you may just press the (Volume Down, Home and Power button) then followed by pressing the (Volume Up) button. As long as your Galaxy S6 shows that information you won’t be able to get the official software update again. You must need to reset that system status from custom to official so that the Software update can get through without any hiccups, such as this; Product name: SM-G920F Current BINARY: Samsung official System Status: Official Reactivation LOCK: OFF CROM SERVICE: Unlock Secure Download: Disabled KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 1 (0x5000) RP SWREV: 1 Kernel RP SWREV: 1 So, how to safely unroot Samsung Galaxy S6 and might as well also restore back to official status? There are two effective method to unroot the Samsung Galaxy S6 either you may use the Smart Switch or by means of flashing back the official stock firmware directly into the device.
Unroot Samsung Galaxy S6 and restore back to official stock firmware using Smart Switch (First Method) Using Samsung’s owned app called “Smart Switch” that allows Galaxy S6 users to back up and transfer files but it also capable for restoring the Galaxy S6 official firmware. The Smart Switch is the replacement of Samsung’s “Kies” that can be use on Galaxy S6 and latest Samsung Android devices. We are going to use the Smart switch apps that can be installed on both Windows and Mac computers. Though this method will work to unroot the Samsung Galaxy S6 but sometimes it will fail as depends how your Galaxy S6 being modified. But you may try this method first, unless we still have a the second method down below.
Download Smart Switch: Run Smart Switch as administrator once installed in your computer. Then simply connect your Galaxy S6. Click “Backup” icon to back up your important data first and foremost such as Contacts, Messages, Call Log, Videos, Music, Photos, Application and etc.
Click on More option, once the backup has made. Choose “Emergency software recovery and initialization.” in the drop-down. Select “Software Update and Initialization” tab. Follow the on-screen instructions that ask you to proceed or cancel. Then wait until it says Software update and Initialization are complete.
Once your Galaxy S6 reboots disconnect and disconnect the USB data cable. Then lastly restore the previously back-up files by clicking the “Restore” icon. However, if the Smart Switch method fail, you can try the second method below. The process is something similar to the above equation but this time around we are going to forcefully and directly install back the official firmware on our Galaxy S6. Fully Unroot Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge by Restoring back the Original and Official Stock firmware This has been a proven method to fully remove root and any modification that has been made into the Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 edge. No matter it runs on any non-official firmware build, custom recovery and custom kernel it will all cleaned-up using this process.

Hi respecteds, recentrly i got samsung s6 edge and i think it is rooted. Try downloading software updates using Smart Switch on your computer or visit a customer service center.” but now i come to know how to unroot and install a firmfare update about my galaxy s6 edge.
My question is, just tell me, is it appear any problems or demage my phone when unroot? Or is it totally safe with odin? Hi, I bought a used Samsung S6 Edge SM-G925F from the market and I was making some searches about it but I realized that it is rooted because it doesn’t take updates and it has a very old Firmware (5.1.1). I was going to unroot it when I also realized that the IMEI I was searching is a AT&T one and it shows on the web that the phone is a S6 not a S6 Edge and also shows that the phone is blacklisted.
I wanted to know how is this possible and what can I do to have a clean phone because I’m afraid that if I unroot it the phone will die. Is there any option to save my phone.

How to troubleshoot Galaxy J5 that shows an error while updating the firmware Problem: Hi guys. I am hoping you can help me with my problem.
I have a Galaxy J5 phone and just recently there was a notification saying that there is an update available. So I downloaded it, followed on-screen instructions carefully but halfway through the update process, an error showed up saying that an error occurred while trying to update the software.
Now, it’s stuck on that screen and won’t start properly. Can this still be fixed? Troubleshooting: There are three potential solutions to this problem and those are the things I want to show you in this post. When this problem occurs, it’s clear that your phone is experiencing some kind of firmware-related issue since it only shows up when you try to update your phone and it doesn’t show all the time. Now, here are the things you can do about it Solution 1: Use Smart Switch to restore your phone’s firmware For this method, you will need a computer to run Smart Switch. What it does is actually restore your phone’s firmware if there’s no available update but if there is, the program will automatically update the phone. Here’s the step-by-step guide to help you how to restore your phone’s firmware using Smart Switch:.
If you haven’t installed Smart Switch yet, get it from. After downloading the file, install it to your computer. After the installation, open the program. Now connect your phone to your computer using the original USB cable. Click MORE on the upper-right portion of the Smart Switch interface and choose ‘Emergency software recovery and initialization.’. Balam pichkari jo tune muje mari mp3 song free download. On the next screen, click ‘Device initialization’ tab.
Now, you will need to enter your phone’s model number and then hit Search. You will now be prompted to enter the serial number which can also be found in the box. After you’ve entered the serial number, hit OK. You will be prompted again about the initialization process, so hit OK to confirm. Let Smart Switch do its job and all you gotta do is wait until the initialization is finished and don’t unplug the cable from your phone.
You will be prompted when the initialization is finished. Your phone will be restarted by the Smart Switch and you can actually see the progress bar moving on your phone’s display. Unplug the cable the moment the screen turns black or when the logo is displayed and allow the phone to boot up successfully until it reaches the setup screen and that’s pretty much it.
Your phone should now be running the new firmware but downside is that all your files and data that are stored in your phone’s internal storage should have been deleted and there’s no way around this. However, if the error showed up before or shortly after the download started, then the next method might help you fix the problem without compromising your files. Solution 2: Delete the system caches You may still be able to boot your phone in Recovery mode even if this kind of error shows up shortly after you started the update process. In which case, the problem might be due to some corrupt caches and if you can get rid of those files, then your phone may start normally and you can try to update its firmware again.
Turn off the device. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key, then press and hold the Power key. When the device logo screen displays, release only the Power key. When the Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’. Press the Power key to select. Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘yes’ and press the Power key to select. When the wipe cache partition is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted. Press the Power key to restart the device. If the problem is due to some corrupt caches, then your phone should be able to boot up normally now that you’ve already wiped the cache partition. If there’s an available updated, you just have to try to download it again to see if it goes through this time.
Solution 3: Master reset your phone via Recovery mode You should do this if the second solution didn’t work or if you don’t have a computer you could use to update your phone. I understand you already tried updating your phone but got stuck on the error and you can no longer use the phone to backup your data and files.
So, at this point, you really don’t have much of a choice but to reset your phone. For failed updates, files that were downloaded will be deleted together with your personal files and data. After the reset, you can then try to download the update again and there’s always a higher probability the update will become successful after the reset. So follow these steps to reset your phone:.

Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’. Press Power button to select. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
Press Power button to select and start the master reset. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
Press the Power key to restart the device. After the reset, don’t install anything on your phone yet, instead, try to update it to the new version of Android so that you don’t have to backup your data and files. Best, I have a Samsung Galaxy SM-J500FN that was stuck on the Samsung-logo while starting the phone, so I’ve done a factory reset. Now the following problem appears: When I start the phone, I can choose a language. Next step I can connect to my Wifi-network. During all these steps, error-messages such as “Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped” appear but after clicking ‘OK’ on them, I can proceed. But it’s in the next step that the real problem starts. The next screen is “Terms and Conditions”, where I can thick off the box for ‘Diagnostic data’ and click ‘next’.
If I do that, I click agree on the popup-screen, and the phone takes some steps such as ‘Checking connection’, ‘Software update’, ‘Loading’ and ‘Checking info’. Then the message “Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped” pops up and it brings me back to the screen of ‘Terms and Conditions’. So I can’t pass the screen ‘Terms and Conditions’. I hope you can bring a solution since I’ve spent already hours trying to find out what to do and since Samsung doesn’t seem to be willing to help me out. Best regards, Jim Du Pan. There are two version of Smart Switch, the first is a downloadable App to which you can simply grab it at Google Play store andcan be installed directly into your Galaxy Note 5. The Smart Switch’s computer version has the capability to intialized a software update on almost Galaxy Note 5 models including the international variants such as the SM-N9200, SM-N9208, SM-N920C, SM-N920I, SM-N920F, SM-N920K, SM-N920L, and SM-N920S. The US variants also works on Smart Switch SM-N920T (T-Mobile), SM-N920P (Sprint), Sm-N920R4 (US Cellular). Likewise also, the SM-N920W8 models in Canada and the rest of North America. While those with ATT and Verizon’s Galaxy Note 5 the SM-N920A and SM-N920V might not supported with Smart Switch yet.
How to use Smart Switch for updating the Galaxy Note 5 software version?. Download and install the computer version of Smart Switch either a PC or MAC. Connect your Galaxy Note 5 using the USB cable to the USB port of your computer.
You may need to wait for a while as it installs the required drivers for your Galaxy Note 5. Open Smart Switch on your computer, and wait until it recognize the device connection. Smart will automatically prompt you that there is a new software update version is available if a software update is available. All you need is to click the Update button.
Smart Switch Device Initialization Removed
Just follow the on-screen instructions which will guide the rest of updating the software. Most importantly just to keep your phone safe just follow it all, including to backup your data to avoid losing it as you may also restore it back once the update has made. If it will will not show you any new update version, you may also manually check the update by yourself. Simply click the More button then choose Emergency software recovery and initialization recovery and then navigate to the Software Update and Initialization tab. This process requires you to manually enter the neccessary details such as the model number of your Galaxy Note 5 and etc. When the software update inititilization started do not ever stop the installation by turning off the device, removing the battery, and unplugging the USB cable. If you interupt the process it may also causes as we calledd soft-bricks, this means the device may not work normally, some problem may occur like it hangs in Samsung logo and or it just keep on restarting (bootloop).
The software update process might take a longer period time and it depends at the size of the firmware version itself. After the update is complete, your device may restarts a few times but you must wait until it stop and stays in the home screen.
If your Samsung Galaxy Note 5 have been modified either it is rooted, installed with custom ROM’s and modified kernels, it also quite happens that you may need to restore it back to its original factory stock firmware. For some reasons a modified and or rooted Samsung Galaxy Note 5 cannot get any official software update anymore, and you’ve lost the privileged support from Samsung and or your carrier provider. There are also quite sometime that some unknown issues occurred if your Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is running on a modified and non-official firmware. So if some things goes wrong and you’ve experienced some abnormal behavior of your phone all you need is to install back the unmodified, unrooted and the original firmware.
Is this method will be also useful in any other way? Aside from root removal and restoring back your Galaxy Note 5 from using unofficial firmware, this method has been also useful for fixing soft-bricks. Soft-bricks may usually occurred if you messed-up from attempting into rooting, and upon installing a modified system images that aren’t compatible with your Galaxy Note 5.
This issue is also called such as “bootloop” like the phone keeps on restarting all over and over again. Other softbricks problem like the phone freezes or it just stuck at the Samsung Logo and can’t boot any further to the home screen. So if you may also have those mentioned problems, you can also simply fix it by restoring back the original firmware and bring back your device to be useful again.
This restoring and unrooting process covers and will work on all Samsung Galaxy Note 5 variants from United States ( T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, AT&T), Canada ( Telus, Bell, Rogers & etc.), to Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Excepting only to those devices with locked “bootloader” as such those devices can’t be easily modified. Unroot Samsung Galaxy Note5 and restore back to official stock firmware using Smart Switch (First Method) There are two effective method to unroot the Samsung Galaxy Note5. The first method is by using Samsung’s owned app called “Smart Switch” that allows Galaxy Note 5 users to back up and transfer files but it also capable for restoring the Galaxy Note 5 official firmware. The Smart Switch is the replacement of Samsung’s “Kies” that can be use on Galaxy Note 5 and latest Samsung Android devices. We are going to use the Smart switch apps that can be installed on both Windows and Mac computers.
Though this method will work to unroot the Samsung Galaxy Note5 but sometimes it will not work as it only depends how your Galaxy Note5 being modified. But you may try this method first, unless we still have a the second method down below by means of flashing back the official stock firmware directly into the device. Download Smart Switch:. Make sure that your Galaxy Note 5 battery is fully charged. Use the supplied USB cable for your Galaxy Note 5.
Once the Smart Switch has installed in your computer simply run it as administrator, then simply connect your Galaxy Note5. Click the “Backup” icon to back up your important data first and foremost such as Contacts, Messages, Call Log, Videos, Music, Photos, Application and etc. Next, click on More option, once the backup has made. Choose “Emergency software recovery and initialization” from the drop-down menu. Then select the “Software Update and Initialization” tab. You may just follow the on-screen instructions like the ones that will ask you to proceed or cancel. Then wait until it says Software update and Initialization are complete. Once your Galaxy Note reboots, you may then disconnect and reconnect the USB data cable.
Then lastly restore the previously back-up files by clicking the “Restore” icon. However, if the Smart Switch firmware update and initialization method will not work on your Galaxy Note 5 anymore, you can try the second method below. The process is something similar to the above equation but this time around we are going to forcefully and directly install back the official firmware on our Galaxy Note 5.
Just follow this guide:. This method allows you to directly install the stock firmware into the device manually.
QUOTE=Elektryx;75478259Thanks for the link to the version with initialise! I downloaded it and tried to do the initialisation process but after putting in my details it said 'SM-G935FD' does not support initialising? Do you know another way to initialise other than flashing a stock rom in ODIN as so far every rom I've tried gets stuck in boot loops. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks / It appears samsung has blocked it. Recent versions of smart switch automatically update to newest version and older versions installation always fails.

I've tried many. After having the bluetooth share problem come up on my phone due to max bluetooth connections (I managed to successfully root the phone and delete the entries to get it working again the last time on S5) I tried again to root my phone which was unsuccessful and messed it up. After trying a few times to get the correct ROM which is hard to get as theres nowhere official to get it from (that I know of) and downloading is slow. Now its in boot loop. Spent time for 3 days running to sort out this issue and now they've completely taken out the potential way to solve it. I guess on my next upgrade I'll look into other options, to think they haven't solved the bluetooth share issue after all this time I think is just crazy.
